•Big Data is Hadoop

          Lot of people think that BigData is Hadoop, but it's not the case. Bigdata is just a concept. It has three characterstics. i.e Volume, veriety and Velocity. Volume means its has tons of data, veriety means  all types of data e.g structured, unstructured, images, audios etc and velocity menas the pace at which it processes the data. 

•Big Data eco system can only solve problems with very large data sets

•Big Data is cheap

        No Its not cheap for enterprises. 

•Big Data provide variety of tools and can solve problems quickly

         No BigData doesn't provide any tools, its just a concept. But there are many technologies which are categorized under Bidata. There is nothing like BigData as technology.

•Big Data is a technology

•Big Data is Data Science

–Data Scientist need to have specialized mathematical skills

–Domain knowledge

–Minimal technology orientation

–Data Science it self is separate domain - if required Big Data technologies can be used

* Often people have unrealistic expectations on Big Data technologies
